LEDspotsMounting and ElectricsPick the aluminium tube again (not the just made part, but the remaining length!) and cut off a length of about 15mm. This will be the shaft covering the bolt that holds the bracket to the rest of your car. Here again, remove all sharp points and edges. Now, pick the M3 thread, stick it through both 3.2mm holes of the bracket, and mark it so, that it sticks out on both sides by about 1-2mm. Cut it, and use your vile to round off both ends. Test if the capped nuts fit over it.
Solder the resistor to the just shortened +-lead of the LED. Then, shorten the other leg of the LED. Get the wire, strip both cores, put some shrinkage tube over the isolated part of the wires, and solder it to the free leg of the LED and the resistor. Slide the shrinkage tube back over the resistor and the feet of the LED, isolating them from each other and the housing in which they will come. Heat it, so the tube will shrink over the wires. That's all, easy. back to spot--proceed to next page |
